In 6 teeny-tiny-little weeks, over 5 million people have shared the love on the Free Hugs vid on YouTube, the chief hugger has been on Oprah, the sick puppies (the Sydney band behind the themesong) are striking record deals, and Free Hugs campaigns have been launched in over 25 countries. I’m sure grandma’s smiling. Just goes to prove 2 of my faves true yet again…

I wish you were my lover my friend

My stallion my end

Of listless ways

Of blissless days

Nights forging long

Dawn been and gone

Zones warm distraction

Frozen hearts beat on

Daydreams flimsy thread

Lingering glances

Second chances

Doth I wish too much

My lover

My end

Here be pirates

Each a stolen heart

Buried deep in life’s splendour

Our finest hoard yet beckons

Dare we dig on?

I’ve not poeticised my ramblings in many a fair moon.

What is it about love that squeezes twisted words from faux indifference?

Talk about wishes coming true -

The old lady upstairs put something on the stove and went out and smoked out her apartment and the fireys came and everything. Well, I’ve been doing the Patch Adams thing and saying hi and getting a smile out of every person who crosses my path (esp the grumpiest looking ones), and I said hi to another lady who happened to live on that floor and she told me all about it… so I’m on my smiles mission and I said “were the firemen hot? firemen are usually cute aren’t they?” and she said yeah and got all giggly and started talking about muscles and stuff (so cute seeing oldies get cheeky!). So I said she shoulda told me, “it’d be nice to meet a hot friendly neighbourhood fireman!”……. Anywho, mission accomplished, got her giggling, life went on, and I compeltely forgot about that conversation.

So I’m going to my yoga class a few days later and I forgot it’s the weekend and the buses are different. So I start walking, assuming I’ll hitch in. So this newish ute stops at the traffic lights and I got up to the window and ask for a lift. All good. So as the conversation unfolds, turns out that he’s a local, he really is quite hot, and very friendly…. and he’s a fireman! Only thing is he’s happily married with 4 girls, one of which is my son’s age. Gotta be a little more specific with what I wish for!!

Bill Gates once had a mission to have a computer on every desk…
……..and that was way before the internet, laptops or polyphinc ring tones.

Our mission today is to have a genuine smile on every face,
a healthy glow in every cheek & a sparkle in every eye,
truth in every word, power in every deed,
love & gratitude in every heart,
health & passion in every body,
curiosity & creativity in every mind,
prosperity & laughter in every home….

Revolution begins with a simple smile

:)

Be truthful and fearless always
Practice random acts of kindness
and random acts of passion
and random acts of curiosity
and random acts of gratitude
EVERY DAY!!!

The iPod/mp3 revolution took less than 5 years to take over the audio world. Pharma is a phase, a profitable but unsustainable phase. It’s a beta-test that is leading us to make better choices, to choose more emotionally and communally valuable habits and strategies. Pretty soon mood-altering prescription medication will exist only in historybooks, right next to the BETA video cassette. Upgrade now!

It’s all about WE! September 21, 2006

Self help and coaching have become our latest commodities – and they’re WRONG.

Woop-de-doo – another multi-billion/trillion dollar industry screwing us up and getting us addicted to things that DON’T WORK and that WILL lead to our communal demise if we continue to indulge them. The system demeans, degrades and destroys your life… so change the system. The system’s about me me me… We gotta make it all about WE, as nature intended, before it’s too late.

If we screw this planet up, we’ll all die together. Living separate lives in separate boxes, pretending we’re disconnected from each other, or deluding ourselves that after we make it financially (on our own) then we’ll ‘give back’. That’s complete bullshit propaganda crap. That route takes us directly to hell. The only thing you ever give back is something you stole. We live to give forward. Period.

First acknowledge that we ain’t separate. Then feel what that really means. Let the pain be there, of all you’ve been ignoring in your blinkered life while upholding the label some marketing department gave you one day of “consumer” “taxpayer” “homeowner.” How about some new labels: “creative force of nature” “global citizen” “community leader” “family revolutionary.” When the most revolutionary act one can commit in this society is to be publicly happy, doesn’t it make you want to a revolutionize your family? Which in turn will automatically revolutionize your community and your world. Let something that you’re connected to, that you’re contributing to, let it get to you. Let it piss you off. Let it tear your heart out. Then do something about it. You’re never separate from anyone or anything. You’re on the left or on the right, you’re above or below, North or South or East or West of it. You’re always on one side of every coin. Which side is up to you. You’re part of the problem or you’re part of the solution. While hibernating in separatist dreamland, pretending global problems don’t exist, you unwittingly create and sustain them. Becoming an active contributing part of the solution is your only way out. Our only way out. Start small. Start now. Start everything. Start sharing your heart. The door’s been closed locked and bolted long enough. Time to let some love out… and the most amazing thing happens… when you open up to let love out, more always comes in.

Change isn’t something that we do. Change happens. Change happens to us and it happens all around us. We respond to change. And our ability to respond to change flexibly, suitably or poorly determines not only the quality of our lives, but the lives of everyone on this earth. What we do matters. If you’re still breathing, you still have a purpose to serve in this life. Get out and serve it.

Who did you serve today?? Who will you serve tomorrow??
Who could you serve if you really wanted to??????

FYI, serving is ALWAYS little stuff – little with huge ripples – maybe you answered someone’s question, really really listened to them, held their gaze for an extra warm second than necessary, lightened their load, brightened their day, shared/created a magic moment, sent em some love (like this huge e-hug that’s going out from me and mine to you and yours right now!!!)

Have you ever noticed that in TRUE LOVE…. TRUE always comes first???

Gary King’s got a life-altering perspective of truth and love (I don’t think the relationship content’s on his site yet, but it’s sooooo worth it, if ever you have a chance to chat with him live) but doing his 24-hour Truth Challenge, and commiting to a totally honest authentic TRUE life has gotta be the first step towards TRUE love.

http://www.DocLove.com – he has a system and lotsa radio interviews

I’m finding this fascinating… thanks to ak for letting me know about it! Hehehe. I get that I’ve only heard one or two radio shows… so this may be a wildly skewed opinion based on a very thin-slice of info… but here’s my opinion so far anyway.

FACT: I find parts of this challenging coz I like a little mystery, but I want my man open. Open Open Open. And really really present and aware and real. And curious and grateful and loving and smart and sexy and cheeky and heaps of fun. And actually having enough faith and presence and trust to let himself be totally raw and vulnerable with me – at raw vulnerable moments. And the whole being-funny thing, that’s always a winner. But not all the time, like having no substance beneath the jokes – ewww. For the dating thing and initial attractiveness, yeah, I guess, this stuff sounds like it’d be a head-turner, but beyond that??? I like how he gets guys to get more aware and observant, paying attention to a girl’s actions and words, and getting out of their own ego-delusions a bit, that’s cool.

“You want her to see you as a challenge” Hmmmmmm……… MASCULINE ENERGY responds to challenge, not feminine… I see how this system works on most girls today coz they’re sooooo stuck in a masculine mask (even the fake feminine ones, they’re trying to be feminine instead of being truly free), so of course it’s gonna be effective in this day and age. But this system makes girls be even more stuck in masculine and more and more disconnected from their natural feminine core. Ewww… how about taking a tip from the Fijian culture, being so totally grounded and present and masculine that her femininity totally flows beyond anything she’s experienced before and is real and true and don’t need to be fake and play games. This sounds like not ending the inauthentic games (like it claims to), but playing really harsh games with a new rulebook that gives guys more of a sense of control. The whole icky incongruence between “I say I have integrity and I don’t break dates” and “I withhold, I say nothing, I don’t open up.” That’s Gary’s turf.

Is there any space in this system of his to TRUST YOUR HEART??????

I get the benefit of guys feeling more confident having a framework… that’s cool, and totally has its place (like rehearsing anything new until you can let go and not think about it any more and just flow)… BUT… This thing seems to remove heart from the equation altogether. Treat ‘em mean keep ‘em keen – bah! His stuff sounds like it’s perfect to pick up people who haven’t grown up yet. Look, I’ve been treated mean and treated sweet… and I get now that it took the mean treatment to get me to appreciate the sweet (which I regretfully took for granted at the time, but now I cherish)… but it doesn’t keep ‘em keen at all. NOW, I know the mean mysterious thang may work when a girl’s still in her selfish masculine material phase… but when she grows up a bit, drops the social fear-based masculine masks, finds her faith and selflessness and feminine core, and is really real and ready for love… having played on both sides of that fence, I’ll take sweet and real and open (with a smidge of mystery) every day of the week.
